Egyptian Spiritualists on Their Way to SAI BABA
During the year 1999 I was trying to establish The Egyptian Society for Spiritual Studies with some friends who are interested in Spiritualism. At the same time I started to write a book in Arabic Language about Spiritualism as a Science and a Philosophy for readers of the Middle East
My friend Dr. Bdel-Fattah Badawy Prof. of Bio-Chemistry wrote a book about Sai Baba named ' The Divine Love '.When I read the book I was fascinated about Sai Baba and his miracles. I asked my friend the permission to write a small chapter about Sai Baba from his book so that the Arabic readers know how a Great Master in India can help his people and all humanity and leading them to Divine Love.
During the first week of March 2001, my friend told me that he and others are planning to visit Sai Baba for the fifth time, why not to come with us to see Sai Baba after you wrote about him. I was inspired to go with them, taking with me my daughter and my son who are interested in Spiritualism. The Egyptian group was 9, four men and five ladies.
Also I was inspired to draw a Portrait for Sai Baba in a color oil painting as this will be a link to see and meet him. I finished the painting in few hours and I felt as if somebody was helping me from the other side.
On Sat. 10 March 2001 we started our journey by plane from Cairo to Bombay, then to Bangalore next morning. We took a taxi to Puttaparthi and were accommodated in the Ashram.
All the members of the group knew the details of what is going on during the whole day, the Darshan, the appearance of the Master,from his house to the Prayer Hall walking between his visitors, blessing them, talking to some of them, taking letters from some of them and offering Vibhoothi to others, choosing some visitors to his interview.
On Mon. 12 March 2001 we were seated very early in the morning in the Prayer Hall to attend the Darshan, when Swamy appeared in his orange dress with a lovely smile blessing the thousands of his devotees.I was lucky to be seated in the first raw, and when Swamy came to my place I tried to give him some letters from some of my friends in Egypt asking his help and healing for their patients. Swamy looked at me, turned his back
and went on his way. I was disappointed and decided to go back home as I felt it is impossible to meet him.
According to the regulations in the Ashram, all foreign visitors must attend a lecture in the meeting room to know every thing about the Ashram otherwise we have to leave our place. The lecturer was a very nice man, after he finished I thanked him and I told him about what happened in the Darshan and that I did a Portrait for Swamy and somebody told me that he did not accept anything. He smiled and said that Swamy knows every thing in the Ashram and knows who is here, why he came, He likes Egypt, when He pass in front of you ask for interview, and you can send the Portrait to Him by mail in the Ashram and he will accept it. I did as he said.
My daughter was sitting in the ninth row with the ladies, and when Swamy passed in front of her, she got a message from him: not today, not tomorrow, but later on.
On Tues. 13 Mar. 2001, I was sitting in the fourth row when Swamy came in front of me, smiled, took all letters from me and gave me a mental message that He is going to see us on Thur. 15 Mar. 2001.
On that day he choosed us all the group for interview. He knew that we are leaving on the next day. It was a great honor for us to meet Swamy in his private room. We sat in a circle on the ground in front of Him and he started to talk about what he is doing for his people, schools, university, hospitals and clean drinking water. He said I am teaching our students academic and spiritual sciences to get a good member for the society. Then he spoke to every member of the group, He knows every thing about every body, He blessed a book for Dr. Badawy about Peace, also he blessed the scripts of my first book ' Light from Heaven '.I said I sent a Portrait for you by mail, He replied by a smile I got it.
During the interview He made miracles, He moved his right hand and gave vibhoothi to every lady, He moved his right hand and gave a necklece from gold and gems to a Danish lady who was present with us, also a golden watch to her husband with the initials of his name on it, He offered a white metal watch to one of our ladies as she forgot her watch at home, also he offered two orange dresses to two of our ladies telling them: put the dress under your pillow and I am going to visit you.
For all of us it was a memorable day, to see, to listen and to talk to Swamy
It gave us great happiness and a remarkable feeling we never felt it before. For myself I felt a great change. Swamy has the power to change any body just by looking to him. My heart was full of love, peace and I was very much enlightened.
On the same day I visited the Hospital, the director explained to me as a Surgeon and a member of the Medical profession all the great services done to the patients free of charge. It is a magnificent hospital, highly equipped to serve the poor. I told him if I am living here it will be a great honor for me to work there as a volunteer.
Then all the group visitd the museum, the stadium ,and the art institute as Swamy is interested in physical, mental and spiritual health of all his people. It is a great work for a great Master.
We went back home very much impressed by our spiritual journey to Swamy. Some of the group continue to vtsit Swamy every year.
Our Egyptian Society for Spiritual Studtes was founded on 5 Jan.2002. My first book Light from Heaven was published, followed by more 4 books and 2 more in the press now. We are giving lectures on Spiritualism as a science, philosophy and behaviour, workshops and meditation. Swamy always visit us during our meditations by himself or by symbols. We are very grateful for his great help to our Society.
